General Questions

I don’t know what kind of pest I’m seeing. Can I still contact you?

Absolutely. You don’t need to identify the pest before contacting us. Tell us what you’re seeing, where you’re seeing it and how long you’ve noticed it. If you have a photo, you can upload one with your service request.

What areas do you service?

Does submitting the online form confirm my appointment?

Termite Questions

How do I know if I may have termites?

Termites can be difficult to spot. Pellets, discarded wings, swarmers, mud tubes or unexplained wood damage are all good reasons to request an inspection.

What termite signs should I look for?

Watch for small pellet-like droppings, loose wings near windows or doors, winged insects, earthen tubes and wood that looks blistered, hollow or damaged.

What’s the difference between termites and flying ants?

They can look similar at a glance. Body shape, antennae and wing size differ, but identification is not always easy. Save a sample or send a photo if you can, and let us help determine the next step.

What should I do if I see something that looks like sawdust or small pellets?

Leave the area available to inspect and take a photo if practical. Small piles near wood may be termite pellets rather than sawdust, so it is worth having the area evaluated.

Can Greg’s help if termites have damaged wood?

When termite-related repair work is needed and falls within Greg’s services, our team can discuss options for addressing the damaged area.

Pest Control Questions

Why am I seeing roaches even though I keep my home clean?

Seeing cockroaches doesn’t automatically mean a home is dirty. They may enter looking for food, water or shelter, and in apartments or other multi-unit properties they can sometimes move between adjoining areas. Greg’s can help evaluate what may be contributing to the problem.

Do I need to know exactly what pest I have before calling?

No. Tell us what it looks like, where you see it and when the activity happens. We’ll help you figure out the next step.

What kinds of pests do you help with?

The site includes information about ants, cockroaches, spiders, fleas, bed bugs, flies, fruit flies, gnats, drain flies, silverfish, earwigs, crickets, mosquitoes, ticks, wasps and hornets, mites and pantry pests. Contact us to confirm service for your particular concern.

Apartments, HOAs & Commercial Properties

Can pests move between neighboring apartments or units?

Yes. In shared-wall properties, some pests can move through wall voids and openings around plumbing, utilities and adjoining spaces. Activity in one unit does not automatically mean that resident caused the problem.

Do you work with apartment and multi-family communities?

Yes. Greg’s works with apartment communities, landlords and property managers to discuss concerns in individual units, common areas and connected spaces.

Do you work with HOAs and property management companies?

Yes. Greg’s can work with HOA boards, community managers and property-management companies on appropriate common-area and property concerns.

Do you provide commercial pest control?

Yes. Greg’s serves offices, retail properties, businesses and other professionally managed commercial properties throughout San Diego County.

Can you help with ongoing pest-control needs for managed properties?

Some properties may benefit from ongoing pest-control attention. Tell us about the property and concern, and we can discuss whether an ongoing approach may be appropriate.

Real Estate & Escrow

Do you work with real estate agents and brokers?

Yes. Greg’s works with agents, brokers, property managers, investors and other real-estate professionals throughout San Diego County.

Do you help buyers and sellers?

Yes. Buyers and sellers can request help understanding visible termite activity, wood damage or pest concerns that may affect a property.

What is an escrow inspection?

An escrow inspection is an evaluation requested as part of a real-estate transaction. It can provide useful information about visible termite or pest concerns while the property is in escrow.

When should I contact Greg’s during a real estate transaction?

Contact us when a concern is noticed or when an inspection is being planned. If the transaction is time sensitive, select that option on the request form so the team understands your timing. Scheduling is confirmed after we speak with you.

Preparing for Service

What should I do before pest-control treatment?

Preparation depends on the pest, property and treatment. Wait for the instructions Greg’s provides for your scheduled service before moving a large amount of belongings or making major changes to the area.

Will I need to leave my home during treatment?

That depends on the treatment being performed. Greg’s will explain what applies to your service before the appointment.

Do I need to move furniture or belongings?

Possibly, but the amount and location depend on the service. Follow the specific preparation instructions provided for your appointment.

Where can I find preparation instructions?

Visit the Prep & Resources page for helpful starting points. Your confirmed service instructions will tell you exactly what applies to your treatment.

STILL HAVE A QUESTION?

That’s okay. Tell us what you’re seeing and we’ll help you figure out the next step.
